OUR STORY
It’s 2022, and I’m in Trier, Germany, sipping coffee with my buddy Marco and his two-year-old Hungarian Vizsla. This dog—oh man, with his soulful eyes and boundless energy—was like a furry superhero stealing my heart faster than you can say “Good Boy.” I’d never seen a Vizsla before, but I knew right then I needed one in my life. Problem? I was a traveling laser salesman clocking 40,000 highway miles a year, crashing in hotels, and working weekends like I was auditioning for a road warrior movie. Not exactly puppy-parent material.
Let’s rewind a quick second: At 22, I jetted off to Tokyo with nothing but youthful optimism and a GPS that might as well have been a paper map. Three years teaching English in Japan kicked off my 12-year global adventure, collecting passport stamps like a kid with Pokémon cards. Fast forward to 2016, I’m back in the States selling medical lasers—yep, those zappy machines for hair/tattoo removal skin magic. I was pretty darn good at it, but a decade in, my heart wasn’t into laser absorption coefficients in 1064 ND: YAG vs 532 KTP wavelengths. It was with dogs, wagging tails, and the dream of a life less… sales'y.
So, I unplugged from the corporate matrix and said to myself, “Is there anyone that's willing to pay me to do what I actually want to do all day?....Nope!”
